I really wouldn't start with this one just for the sake of not being spoiled about the ending before you decide to play the others. I'm not done the Residence yet, but I can tell you the atmosphere is tense.
Not much to say other than that the story tie-ins are strong here. Some nice puzzles that I'd call chill if it weren't for a certain antagonist. Lots of cuteness and obviously some scary, anxiety-inducing stuff I won't spoil. The second part, The Hideaway, is just plain fun all around for the most part. Also the climax to the Depths is very satisfying. It's fear-inducing at times (especially when there's a chase involved) and you always feel endangered but in reality it's quite forgiving (which is a description you can apply to a lot of the rest of the game and DLCs). The difficulty level starts from the difficulty where you leave off in the main game, more or less, and I'd say it slightly increases with each instalment from there.Įven though (like many people) I normally don't care for water and swimming mechanics, I thought The Depths actually used those mechanics pretty well. Up to you what you do (or maybe you've decided already and didn't update the thread), but I'm near the end now and can add a few comments about the content.Įach piece of Runaway Kid's story ties into the main game and the pieces go together, each continuing from where the last one ended.
